Iconic landmarks, gourmet cuisine and passionate people of Paris

One of the first things you’ll notice about the venues in the French capital is how proud and passionate the staff are about their venue. That’s not to say homeland staff don’t take pride in their venue. It’s just that in Paris this is dialled up to 11.

DAY 1: PULLMAN PARIS EIFFEL TOWER HOTEL

The Pullman Paris Eiffel Tower Hotel was my base while in Paris and I’m glad it was!

Pullman has a reputation for elegant hotels and the Paris Eiffel Tower Hotel lives up to that and then some. Located literally at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, the venue is what you expect from a big chain hotel but where it differentiates itself is with some breathtaking views.

The view of the tower is a huge selling point and the reason why many stay here. It was actually visible from the balcony of my room! There is certainly something to be said to the unique experience of going to bed and waking up in the presence of this iconic landmark!

You also get a lovely view of the classic style architecture of the older buildings that surround the hotel.

Some of the event spaces are standard, functional spaces, while others allow you to host your professional events in style:

Just imagine this scene at night with the tower lit up in all its glory!

Pullman Paris Eiffel Tower Hotel Summary:

Special views, functional meeting spaces, a great base for exploring Paris, stones through from Effiel Tower.

DAY 1: PERFUME MAKING EXPERIENCE

In the morning, we visited a nearby perfume shop to create our own perfume. Walking into a small courtyard off of a dreamy cobblestone side street immediately set the scene for this unique experience.

You create your perfume by mixing and matching 6 fragrances until you find 6 ‘notes’ you love – 2 top, 2 base and 2 middle. The experts will then tell you how much of each to use and create a bottle of your personal perfume.

It’s something I would never normally have thought to do, but it fit nicely with being in the city of love.

DAY 1: PULLMAN PARIS CENTRE BERCY

In the evening, we visited the Pullman Paris Centre Bercy for a look around and dinner. Walking in I was quick to notice how stunning it is. The modern decor and live DJ playing chillout music help create a funky business vibe.

More traditional business folk probably won’t enjoy it as much, however, I felt really at home here and I was impressed with the warmth and helpfulness of the staff.

We were spoiled with a food showcase that had us salivating and loosening our belts.

Pullman Paris Centre Bercy Summary:

Modern spaces/atmosphere, stunning venue, great food, nearby Metro station handy for getting into Central Paris.

DAY 2: PULLMAN PARIS DEFENSE

Day 2 started with a visit to the Pullman Paris Defense. This hotel is located in the heart of one of the largest business centres in Europe – this whole area actually made me feel like I was in New York!

The view from the roof was spectacular. No, you can’t see the Eiffel Tower as apparently it’s been designed this way to separate the business feel from the tourist atmosphere.

Their menu attracts clientele from all over the world: ‘an invitation to cosmopolitan flavours.’

We had a delicious sweet treat which was tasty enough to believe that! We met the resident pastry chef who made us fresh madeleines – a traditional small shell-shaped sponge cake.

Pullman Paris Defense Summary:

More of a business feel, nearby Metro for easy links, the best restaurant in La Défense.

DAY 2: HOTEL SOFITEL PARIS ARC DE TRIOMPHE

The day continued with a tour of the Hotel Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe – my personal favourite from the trip.

The streets that surround the hotel look exactly how you imagine think Paris looks. There is Haussmann-style facades and shuttered windows at every turn, giving the entire area much more character.

Hotel Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe takes advantage of this with Juliet balconies in every room that overlook the picturesque streets. And the meeting spaces continue this with their modern decor – I would describe them as being perfect for businesses with a flair.

As a parting gift, resident Chef Christian Constant gave each of us a signed copy of his recipe book – a lovely touch which we were all so appreciative of.

I would love to come back for a longer visit to really experience the Parisian lifestyle. Isn’t that a big goal for venues – turning business guests into leisure guests? Mission accomplished!

DAY 2: HOTEL SOFITEL PARIS ARC DE TRIOMPHE CONTINUED

In the afternoon, we met up with 15 hotel representatives for some hotel speed networking – a perfect opportunity for me to introduce them all to Search4Venues.

Hotel Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe Summary:

Full of character, quiet environment, warm & passionate staff.

DAY 2: PAVILLON KLÉBER – POTEL ET CHABOT

Yes, Day 2 was crazy!

In the evening, we attended a gala dinner in the cosy and refined atmosphere of Pavillon Kléber – Potel et Chabot.

This was a rich change of scenery that is ideal for making your guests feel extra privileged and the glass ceiling lets in so much light that it actually feels like your outside.

If you want bump shoulders with the Parisian aristocracy, Pavillon Kléber will have a suitable space to satisfy you!
