Recently, a few of the tobook team got out of the office and took an evening trip into Birmingham where we visited The Clayton Hotel. The hotel is just a short walk from Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Moor Street train stations.
Although we weren’t there primarily to have a look around, being the nosey kind of people that we are, when the opportunity was presented to us to have a look at what they have to offer, we just couldn’t resist.
THE BEDROOMS
Well, I don’t even know where to start with the bedrooms! They are truly lovely. Not only are they some of the most spacious rooms we have seen for a city centre hotel, but they are beautiful too. As you walk down the wide Victorian corridors, you already have that feeling of grandeur. Then the door opens… we were far from disappointed.
The ‘entry level rooms’ are called city rooms and offer everything you could need from a hotel room, but we just couldn’t get over the amount of space. We then went on to view all 5 variations of rooms that the Hotel has to offer, and it just kept getting better! With stunning décor, a really comfy bed and even a TV that you can watch whilst you’re in the bath. You really got the feeling that the renovation here had taken the guests perspective into account. Just what we like to see.
THE MEETING SPACE
3 of my favourite ways to describe meeting and conference space when presenting to a client are: flexible, up to date and filled with natural daylight. The Clayton has it! The large floor to ceiling windows let the light flood in, creating a lovely open atmosphere in each of the spaces. With the adaptability to draw the blackout blinds for presentations, using the built-in projector.
With all-inclusive packages on offer, everything you might want is provided, so no added expenses. From teas, coffee’s, lunch and an abundance of snacks, to a designated registration area, they have thought of everything. It honestly felt like the options were endless. The larger meeting spaces could be divided to create your perfect space and there is even the option to have a BBQ on the outside terrace for that summer lunch break with some lovely views.
